Violeda Umali, BA, MA, MA

Short Biography
I am a graduate of the University of the Philippines, where I received my B.A. degree in Communication Research (cum laude) and my M.A. degree in Demography, and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), where I received my Master of Mass Communication degree. I am a full-time faculty member (currently on leave) of the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication, where I teach courses in communication research. Alongside teaching, I have been involved in research, training, and extension projects in the areas of communication and media; population and family planning; reproductive health; and gender and women’s issues.
