Short Biography
I was born in 1980 in Yaoundé (Cameroon). I earned a master’s degree in Environmental Management from Aalborg University in March 2007. My thesis was entitled "The Potentials of Participation in Promoting More Sustainable Waste Management: A Comparative Study of Solid Waste Management in Douala and Bamenda, Cameroon". The study analysed how cooperation between the state and civil society actors could contribute to more effective and sustainable solid waste management.

PhD Topic
Associations and Pressure for Democratic Governance: The Case of Cameroon
My research assesses, quantitatively, the extent to which development associations in Cameroon possess capacities to pressure for deeper democracy and equality in development. It analyses how the institutional context, which consists of regulatory, normative and cultural elements constrain bottom-up pressure for democratic governance. The study identifies strategies and policies that civil society organisations and donors need to change or build upon, in order to increase their contribution to democratic change in Africa.
